Her first Bengali film, the National award winner KAALPURUSH won Sameera Reddy tremendous accolades from the serious cinema lovers as well as made everyone take notice of the sizzling actresses’ ability to emote. KAALPURUSH has been screened at many festivals in India and abroad. Infact director Buddhadeb Dasgupta was so impressed by her that he already made up his mind to have her in his next UNTITLED film. He even said that she reminded him of Smita Patil.

After KAALPURUSH, Sameera has developed a love for Bengali language, Bengali food, people and environment. She is presently shooting in Kolkatta for his next film. She delivered an 8 page dialogue in Bengali in one shot that got her standing ovation from her director who simply said "Shomira this was fantastic…”

She recently celebrated her birthday at Leena Mogre's new gym at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. Her Bollywood projects include FOOL and FINAL, BENAAM and GHULAMI.
